In 2025, Karolina Rochman-Drohomirecka was enlisted in the AD100. The honour recognises not only her talent but also her contribution to contemporary design.
Known for a distinctive approach to space, colour and detail, she balances modernity with a respect for tradition. Her work has been featured in AD Italia, AD Germany, AD Poland and Elle UK.
Within her brand ethos she unites interpretive skills, attentive observation, stylistic agility, eclecticism, colour, respect for craft, authentic materials and a sense of place.
What distinguishes her approach is an eclecticism where colour and texture meet—reaching depth and harmony.
Joining the AD100 affirms her role in shaping contemporary architecture and design, in Poland and internationally.
Creating a unique place in Sopot — her own atelier with a strong genius loci, evoking the memory of a traditional craft guild.
Nearly two decades distilled into a brand that gathers every aspect needed to realise a client’s dream of a meaningful interior and building. Both Il Capolavoro and the studio encapsulate the philosophy of the good life — rich in aesthetic experience.

Design and supervision of more than 14 neurology clinics exceeding 4,000 m² in ten Swiss cities including Zurich, Basel, St. Gallen, Rorschach and Lucerne — within the Bellevue Medical Group.
Responsibilities included architecture, construction supervision, and the design and execution of bespoke furniture and fittings, ensuring both aesthetic and functional coherence. Commencement of PhD studies and opening of the dissertation process titled „Terror with Colour”. The deeper we delve into a field, the more we encounter its power. Responsibility for our built environment and a refusal to accept the degradation of architectural quality propelled me into doctoral work.
Co-authoring the colour master plan for Berlin’s Märkisches Viertel with Caparol at the International Institute Trendscouting (IIT) Hildesheim.
Building on momentum, I participated in an unprecedented project, affecting an entire Berlin district—revitalising and colouring dozens of multifamily buildings. A joint endeavour by IIT and Caparol, a company long engaged in research on how colour affects human life.
The realisation of two exhibitions at Luminale during the Light + Building fair in Frankfurt.
What fascinates me about architecture is its sense of agency—the materialisation of thought. The Luminale biennial of light and colour was a good case in point for that power.
My visionary streak was recognised by the founder of the International Institute for Trend Research, who invited me to join the team. IIT remains a vital partner to companies seeking innovation and competitiveness. There I took part in the systematic process of seeking, analysing and interpreting the emerging and established trends — identifying opportunities and preparing brands for change. I continue to draw on that experience.
Dual master’s degree from the HAWK Hildesheim (Architecture) and the Gdańsk University of Technology (Architecture & Urban Planning).
Pushing beyond the expected: working on the thesis entitled “Innovative Facades — Transformers” in two languages under two supervisors — Prof. Wojciech Targowski (PL) and a German counterpart.
A time of unbounded creation – visionary projects, applied knowledge, and the tangible materialisation of ideas in the academic realm.
